This is a very subjective opinion. Texas weather may be ok for rattlesnakes and for cooking pastry if your oven breaks down. But would you really want to live there if either you or the planet couldn't afford the air conditioning.
UK Weather:
No Katrinas
No Tornados
No Golf Ball sized hail.
No reliance on AC
Gardens that are self watering.
I rest my case. Point to UK.
By the way, you should know that to talk about 'UK Weather' is meaningless, the weather in the south of England is completely different to the weather in Fort William.
