Just the same as with weight training, doing longer endurance sports is 90% mental and maybe 10% training. Even then, most of the training is about finding out that when you are at the point of throwing up in the gutter, get it over with, pick yourself up and move on. Your brain will quit a lot earlier than your body will.

We are so used to being comfortable and not pushing to the edges of what we can do.

Very creative post! Tieing in weight training and war to what our economy is facing. I enjoyed the video clips and power lifting analogy.
